Today, we threw caution to the wind and went shopping.. had our driver .. Guiarmo take us to the Allbrook... HUGE mall. We arrived at the start of the mall and he kept driving for about a mile or so, then stopped and said here we are at the middle. I will wait for you here. Hard to describe, but ridiculously HUGE. Hundreds of stores ... very clean, classy and full... all stores doing a ton of business as well.. an indication of the robust economy in Panama.Actually, when all the dust settled, we didn't really buy much, a couple of watches, a shawl and thats about it.. but a neat experience.
Other folks were a little more adventurous. Taking the Indigenous tour to a small local village, a trip down the river on a dugout canoe, climbing a waterfall and eating with the local tribe... a lunch served on banana leaves. Kinda makes our shopping trip sound a little winpy.
On a serious note, www.panow.com keeps everyone informed about what goes on at home... we are interested in things like weather, sports etc, and we are also saddened by reports the loss of a child of a good friend... Claude Rivet and Family... deepest condolences from all of us...
